About

The Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses (CCCN) is a national, not-for-profit organization. Foundational to the organization are the pillars of health promotion and advocacy, professional education, research, and excellent membership services.

CCCN is composed of nine (9) provincial and territorial divisions, each with its own executive and committee structure. These Divisions promote, develop and facilitate ongoing events and initiatives that support the national pillars.CCCN supports its members in a variety of ways, including:

  • The 2 annual national conferences: – CCCN has its own scientific sessions as part of the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) that takes place in the Fall and hosts a standalone nursing conference in the Spring.  The theme of the 2017 Spring Conference is: “Update Your CV Nursing Toolkit”.
  • The publication of the peer-reviewed Canadian Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing (CJCN). 
  • The membership recognition program 
  • The financial support for CV nurse researchers through the annual Research and Clinical Improvement Grants.

CCCN works closely with, and is affiliated with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC).

CCCN is an Associate member of the CNA and is recognized as a specialty organization by the CNA certification program. CCCN maintains the Cardiovascular Nursing Standards on which the CNA Cardiovascular Certification exam is based.
