Position Title: Strategic Partnerships Sub-Committee Member
Organization: Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses (CCCN)
Reporting To: Director of Strategic Partnerships
Term Length: 1-year renewable term
Time Commitment: Approximately 2–4 hours per month (Includes virtual bi-monthly meetings and asynchronous document review)
About CCCN & The Strategic Partnerships Portfolio
The Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses (CCCN) is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular nursing excellence through education, research, and advocacy. The Strategic Partnerships portfolio serves as the primary bridge between CCCN and key national scientific societies and risk-reduction stakeholders (such as the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Heart Failure Society, and Canadian Hypertension Coalition).
Role Overview
The Strategic Partnerships Sub-Committee works alongside the Director of Strategic Partnerships to evaluate, build, and nurture high-impact organizational relationships. This sub-committee plays a vital role in operationalizing collaborative advocacy campaigns, reviewing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and ensuring partnership deliverables bring true value to CCCN members across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Opportunity Assessment: Help evaluate potential strategic partners, joint initiatives, and alliance opportunities for organizational alignment and ethical fit.
- Project Support: Assist in operationalizing collaborative projects, such as national awareness campaigns (e.g., Heart Failure Awareness Week) and joint policy/advocacy statements.
- Agreement Review: Support the drafting and periodic review of formal Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and track partnership progress against strategic goals.
Member Advocacy: Act as grass-roots ambassadors within CCCN to ensure partnership activities align with the needs of frontline cardiovascular nurses and nurse practitioners across Canada.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Active member in good standing with the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses (CCCN).
- Interest or experience in health advocacy, inter-organizational collaboration, networking, or leadership.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to contribute to the strategic growth of CCCN nationally.
- Ability to commit to bi-monthly virtual meetings and occasional email-based document reviews.
