Presenter: Menaka Ponnambalam 

Menaka Ponnambalam is a Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiac Surgery Program at Vancouver General Hospital.  She has over 17 years of experience as an NP in cardiac surgery.  Beyond her clinical practice, her work focuses on translating evidence and guidelines into individualized patient care that improves outcomes after cardiac surgery, including minimally invasive approaches. She an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia School of Nursing and is vice chair of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Workforce on Multidisciplinary Team Care.  She is a faculty director of the Advance Practice Provider Symposium at the STS’ Annual Meeting.
